Introduction

Mallory Valley Utility District of Williamson County was founded in 1966 by Charlie Shipley, James Pewitt and John Curley. At a time when well water was the only option available to residents living outside of the city limits, Shipley, Pewitt and Curley began talking about forming a water utility district with the residents who lived on Franklin Road and Berry's Chapel Road, most of whom were experiencing a scarcity of water. Mallory Valley Utility District began with seventy-five customers.

Today, Mallory Valley Utility District has over 3,300 residential and commercial connections with water purchased from Harpeth Valley Utilities District and the City of Franklin Water Department. Mallory Valley Utility District is considered one of the fastest growing water utility districts in the state, and has far surpassed the founder's vision to create a self-sufficient utility district.

Our philosophy is to treat all people - our employees, our customers and the people in the communities we serve - with respect, dignity and understanding.
